If you are looking for a peaceful family friendly boat harbor then Potter's Marine is the place for you. Located on North Creek about 1/2 mile from the Pamlico River on the north side.
*Each slip has water and electricity and measures about 15 ft wide with a 30 ft pier to the side. The water depth is 4 1/2-6 ft in slip area with even a deeper channel with a very muddy bottom.

Rules & Regulations
These rules and regulations will be administered by Potters Marine (hereafter referred to as Marina) and are subject to change from time to time with reasonable notice slip renters (hereafter referred
as Tenants).
All tenants and their guest agree to use the marina facilities in a lawful, safe, clean & orderly
manner, and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules, laws, and regulations.
Tenants are responsible for the conduct of their guest while at the marina.
A- Dock lines: All vessels must be secured to the dock in a seaman like manner using an adequate
number & size of bow, stern & spring lines good condition. Acceptable mooring line materials are nylon, Dacron, or manila; other materials are not permitted. Marina may (but not obligated) replace or rescuer defective or improperly secured dock lines at Tenant's expense.
B- Vessel; docking position: All vessels must b e secured such that the vessel cannot contact any part of the dock structure pilings, regardless of wind direction. The following clearance MUST be maintained at all times:
1-Minimum of 12" (inches) on either side the vessel (port & starboard) between the vessel
& the adjacent dock, finger pier or pilings.
2-minimum or 24" (inches) between the inboard end of the vessel's hall (bow or stern) and the dock.
3-No extension of the vessel (ie bowsprit, pulpit, anchor, dingy, davits etc) may extend through the vertical plane at the inside edge of the dock.
C-Storage on docks: All supplies & equipment must be stored onboard the boat or in a dock box. No materials, equipment, debris or objects of any kind may be stored on the docks without prior approval from the marina. No dock boxes may be installed without prior approval of the marina.
D-Alterations to the dock: no equipment may be attached to the dock, including dock rollers, mooring whips, rub rails, cleats, boat lifts, or any other accessories of any kind without approval of marina.
E- Electrical & fire safety:Shore power cords must be marine grade, UL-listed & maintained in good condition. Unattended electrical space heaters are strictly prohibited. Propane or kerosene-fired space heaters are strictly prohibited at all times. Bilge or engine heaters must be USCG approved.
F-Trash disposal: All garbage & trash must be disposed of in the receptacle provided by the marina (next to the bath house) Ducks MUST be kept clean & free from trash at all times.
G-Sewage: Potters Marine is a closed-head marina. No sewage or discharge from boat toilets or waste holding tanks may be discharged into the water of the marina or North Creek under any circumstances. The marina provides a sanitary pump-out system for the use of tenants for this purpose.
H-Pets: Dogs MUST be leashed at all times & under the control of the owner anywhere on the marina grounds. Pet waste MUST be bagged & disposed of properly.
I- Noise: Tenants are reminded of how easy sound carries over the water, and of the importance of being a "good neighbor" to other tenants and to residents of North Creek. Discretion must be used with amplified music or other noisy activities such as operating engines, generators, & power tools. No music or other noise activities are permitted during "quiet hours" of 10:00 pm to 7:00 am, seven days a week.
J-Fish cleaning: The cleaning of fish on marina premises, including the docks, piers, walkways, parking lot, & grassed areas is strictly prohibited.
K- Toilet & shower facilities: these facilities are for the exclusive use of tenants and their guest only. Tenants are required to leave these facilities in a clean & sanitary condition. Pets are NOT allowed in any toilet & shower facilities at any time.
L-SMOKING: Smoking is NOT PERMITTED in the toilet & shower facilities or any other indoor marina facility
M-Liveaboards: Liveabords are not permitted at the marina. Tenants may stay on their boat for up to 14 days.
N- Boat maintenance & repair activities: Tenant may perform minor maintenance & repairs on their boat while docked, providing these do not create excess noise or debris and that no waste of any kind is discharged into marina or North Creek waters. Welding & spray painting are strictly prohibited; sanding is permitted only with vacuum dust capture.
O- Speed restrictions: All vessels must operate at idle speed, no-wake speed when approaching or leaving marina.
P-Insurance: Tenant shall maintain in force at all times, with a carrier licensed to do business in North Carolina, watercraft liability insurance with a minimum combined single limit of $300,000 per occurrence insuring against injury or death to any person, and a $300,000 property damage protection
Q-Vessel condition: Potters marine is not responsible for checking, maintaining, or protecting any vessel the marina. All vessels are required, unless specifically excluded and equipped with an operating, automatic, bilge pump system. Only pleasure vessels in good and seaworthy condition, shall be permitted to occupy any birthing space. In the event of an emergency that occurs during the tenants absence, Potters Marine reserves the right but not the responsibility, to take such actions as it deems necessary & prudent to safeguard any vessel, its mooring space, adjacent vessels, or property of the marina. Tenant agrees to reimburse Potters Marine or its agents for any and all cost incurred on behalf of the tenant's vessel in such situation.
R-Registration: Tenant must maintain current North Carolina state registration and (for federal registered vessels) federal registration at all times.
S- Vessel keys: Tenants must provide Potters marine with ignition, cabin, & engine compartment keys and or combination adequate to allow management to start and move vessel in case of an emergency.
T-Flames & fire: The use of charcoal grill, gas grill, fire pit, gas welder, or any form of open flame is strictly prohibited on or around the docks.
U-Swimmmg: Swimming fishing or diving are not allowed
V-Parking: Parking is limited to 2 vehicles per slip without pre-approval of marina, Parked vehicles must not block docks entrance or boat ramp approach area.
W- STORM PREP. (IMPORTANT) in the event of an approaching storm predicted to cause dangerous conditions such as high winds and/or storm surge, marina in its sole discretion may require tenant to make mandatory storm preparations. Upon notice delivered by marina via text message or email, tenants are required to complete the following precautions within 24 hrs:
1-Remove all canvas & unattached deck furniture & equipment.
2-REmove sails or thoroughly lash sails to boom or fuller.
3-Double all dock lines & spring lines, with adequate length to allow for rise/fall withy predicted storm surge while preventing boat from contacting dock structure or piers Lines must be rigged to allow length to be adjusted from the docks.
4-Disconnect & remove all shore power cords.
5-close all seacocks
6- turn off all onboard power devices, with the exception of bilge pump which must be fully functional, tested, & connected to fully charged batteries.
Should tenant fail to take these precautions within the 24 hours notice period, marine may (but not obligated to) complete some or all of thematic its discretion & invoice boat owner for time & materials.
In the event of the most severe storm forecast, marina reserves the right to require tenants to remove & relocate their vessels away from the marina entirely. Tenants are strongly advised to have a relocation plan in place well in advance, since haul-out services quickly fill up when there is a serious storm approaching.
